One of our second most favorite vehicles regardless of which engine you have the audio was the same in all models shocking at best!
it didn't matter if you had the factory navigation system or the single din BMW professional radio.
The radio and the speakers in unison were a very weak link.
We regularly see an X5 at our shop for either the double din upgrade or the speaker upgrade.
we have put together through out the years a package that gives you the all round best performance.
we start with the head unit, we ditch the factory board monitor and replace with an aftermarket radio system that brings you up to modern day standards with apple car play, navigation and dab.
We then recommend changing the speakers with plenty of sound deadening,
the speakers can be non amplified or amplified depending how loud and clear you like your system.
a discreet hidden away sub woofer can be added and installed in the right hand side luggage compartment in the boot.
We recommend using a 5 channel amplifier to run the system this gives you front and rear amplification and a 5th channel to drive the sub-woofer.
Speaker upgrades start from £400 with sound deadening for all 4 doors using component speakers.
Radio upgrades start from £350 depending on which factory system is fitted for example the latest Kenwood 8 series navigation unit fully fitted is £1000
for a full system upgrade with a 10" sub-woofer and 5 channel amplifier not including the head unit and door speakers with deadening is £1000 fully fitted.
