At Ilkley Car Audio, we supply and install wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto retrofit kits for a wide range of vehicles.

We use Integrated Automotive IMI-1000 retrofit systems because they are a tried and tested solution designed to work with the vehicle’s original infotainment system. These kits allow you to keep the factory screen, factory controls and original dashboard appearance while adding modern smartphone connectivity.

This means you can use apps such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, Apple Music, WhatsApp, podcasts and hands-free calling directly through your existing vehicle display.

Unlike replacing the original radio with an aftermarket head unit, an Integrated Automotive retrofit is designed to work with the vehicle’s existing system.

Depending on the vehicle, the system can retain use of:

• the factory display screen 
• steering wheel controls 
• iDrive, MMI, PCM, COMAND or rotary controller 
• original Bluetooth system where applicable 
• factory microphone where applicable 
• original amplifier and speaker system 
• front camera, reverse camera or 360-degree camera options where supported 

The aim is to add modern features without making the vehicle look modified. Once installed, the vehicle keeps its original dashboard layout, but gains wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto functionality.

Wireless Apple CarPlay allows compatible iPhones to connect to the vehicle without needing to plug in a cable every time you drive.

Once connected, you can access key iPhone features through the vehicle screen, including:

We do not treat these as a basic plug-in accessory. A professional Apple CarPlay and Android Auto retrofit needs to be installed correctly, routed neatly and tested properly.
